The area around the lake is a protected natural area and swimming is not allowed. However, you can enjoy a beautiful walk of about 5 km around the lake and find several relaxation spots with benches.

The ideal parking spot is at the paid Schiederweiher Hinterstoder parking lot – you’ll pay 3 EUR for up to 4 hours. You can also reach it by a longer walk directly from Hinterstoder, or take the local tourist bus.
