Not all Almsees are the same. The route takes you through Linz to Filzmoos &#8211; but you can choose from several routes. Close to the lake, you&#8217;ll also find the Maria am Steineggl chapel, which completes this Austrian landscape fairy tale perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>This picturesque 18th-century building stands on a rocky outcrop and offers unforgettable views of the surrounding landscape. The lake and the surrounding nature can look different in each season, and that&#8217;s completely natural. In spring, when the snow melts from the mountain peaks, the lake is full of water.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, if you visit at the end of summer, in August, Almsee will be almost drained. Some might mistake the reflecting Grosse Bischofsm\u00fctze (2458 m) for Dachstein.
